Mesganà

Pau Tarruell i Víctor E. Uwagba

It’s a show with African rhythm and Mediterranean softness. Victor takes us into the heart of Nigerian life. It shows joy and gratitude. There are a lot of stories with lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes, monkeys ... and all kinds of animals in the jungle and savannah. All of them with  rhythm, dance and percussion instruments. Pau flutes give the show a magical character, and also the guitar, saxophone and clarinet. The public is encouraged to participate actively taking the stage, singing, answering riddles and discovering the hidden message of the stories.

Mesganà was premiered in Barcelona in December 2002 and has performed more than twenty times in Cerdanyola del Valles, Castellar del Vallès, Pollença, Manacor, Ciutadella and Mahon among others, always very well received. It is intended for all audiences and addresses intercultural values and culture of peace. It arouses great enthusiasm and joy among the public, both children and adults.

Victor E. Uwagba is a dancer, choreographer and musician from Lagos, Nigeria. He lives in Palma de Mallorca, where he teaches dance and percussion in several schools on the island.
